For over the past decade I have worked in the fast-paced banking and accounting industries in Ottawa and Toronto and am now looking for a new career path to grow professionally and to fulfil some of my personal goals.My first career was in the financial field for the largest international bank in Canada, Scotiabank. I worked for seven years in various roles which resulted in thorough knowledge of all banking products, securities and payment options. My attention to detail has developed due to this role as I spent many hours of physical counting, mental calculations and database entry. This role also included supervising, training and running regular meetings for front-line staff members. I have dealt with all types of Registered and non-registered GICs, Mutual Funds and understand banking with respect to trust accounts, Wills, Power of Attorneys and Executors. Additionally, I am aware of all banking policies, procedures, confidentiality rules and regulations that all banks in Canada adhere to.Secondly, I worked in the non-profit sector where I conducted disability accounting audits and tax consulting for people with disabilities and/or their caregiver(s) for the Canadian P’tach Society. This role included managing seven staff members and conducting accounting for the business and clients when necessary. I also researched new methods, rewrote manuals and programmed our Microsoft Access database to include needed updates.Currently I am working for TaxWise Inc. remotely, half from home and half on the road, which utilizes my time management and personal motivation skills. I conduct seminars across Ontario to help educate the disability community about current tax-credits, deductions and Federal and Provincial benefits that they should be applying for. The seminars lead to field engagements with clients, on a one-on-one basis, to consult on their tax situations and help families navigate through Government forms and educate them on allowable tax claims.I am going to be adding a, "view, download and print" feature for my specific resumes soon.
